He was King of the Castle for 14 years and he is still dearly missed.
I can clearly see Pricken in many of his descendants, several generations down, it is a bit like getting to be able to keep a piece of him around to this day.
Pricken only had one litter, 6 puppies, 2 males, 4 females.
Three of the girls continued the line.
One of the daughters, Fire Fly, moved to England, became the first Silken Windhound in England and founded a dynasty of her own.
Through Fire Fly, a total of at least thirteen generations can be documented as of December 2025, spread across Europe and the United States.
Today, Prickens line can be traced through multiple generations, with documented descendants extending at least 14 generations.

Pricken had a very particular quirk: recall was simply not something he engaged in.
Throughout his life I knew that if I ever let him off lead outside a fenced area, I had to allow one or two hours to wait him out, until he eventually grew bored and allowed himself to be caught.
He never ran off or disappeared. He stayed nearby — he just had absolutely no interest in being put back on lead.
Pricken was a real chameleon, changing in color from pup to end of life
Pricken never had really reliable rose ears, they were kind of – flexible…
But as he got older the cartilage in the ears got stiffer and during the last years he could not fold his ears at all.
