One of my pet peeves; who is the person behind a kennel name?
All too often I see kennel web sites and Facebook Pages about kennels. The kennel name is there. But oddly enough very, very often the following is entirely missing from the information:

Name of the breeder or the breeders at this establishment

Location, sometimes not even the country is mentioned!!
It is easy to understand that people do not want their full adress and phone number on their site or FB Page. But to completely withhold all personal information is no longer a privacy or security concern.
It is more a warning to potential interested parties that this may NOT be a serious enterprise at all. In fact – it more screams SCAM! BEWARE! SCAM!
Or at least that this it is a breeder that for some reason is not willing to stand behind their own kennel name. And if so – hmm, why????
Sorry, but it does come across this way.
You may think that your kennel name is so famous that everyone knows exactly who you are. That is probably true, in a very limited circle, primarily your own breed community, quite possibly mostly within your country or region.
Outside that community, and quite often even inside that community, a kennel name does not automatically make a bell go off in the visitors head, knowing who you are.
A breed like Silken Windhound is a very international community.
There are breeders in many countries.
The number of breeders is steadily on the rise.
So no, most of us can’t keep track! Too many kennels, too many breeders, and we can’t keep everyone apart just by a kennel name. Not anymore.
You might ask why it is important to present the breeder by name?
First of all, it is rude not to. Plain and simple. Rude!
Are you not presenting yourself with a name when you meet and greet new people?
Secondly, stating your name says you are putting your name behind your kennel name and your breeding program.
Thirdly, although this can be contested, it makes it harder for someone to put up a site that is really nothing but a scam in order to fool people to pay deposits for imaginary puppies. It is quite possible to make a near duplicate of your site and use it for shady purposes.
Your name on your site make it more believable but in this day and age every buyer has to make sure they are not dealing with a scammer.
Your name on the site does not mean it is foolproof and you are who you say are.
To most online visitors it will provide a bit more trust though.
