The short answer is: no \u2014they are currently not fully recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC)<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the breed has recently (April 2026) been accepted into the AKC Foundation Stock Service (FSS)<\/strong>, which is an important first step toward potential future recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FSS is not full recognition. Dogs in the FSS program cannot compete in regular AKC conformation shows, but the breed is officially recorded and can participate in certain AKC events such as performance sports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
