This table shows how Silken Windhounds spread across the world from the USA, the country of origin. You will see when the first Silken Windhound arrived in a particular country, as well as from which country that dog came.
In some instances, the exporting country did not have a breeder. It was not a puppy export, but simply owners taking their family and dogs and moving to another country.
There are also cases of Silken Windhounds moving to several different countries during their lifetime. One of these dogs is represented in the table below as he moved from Sweden to Germany, from Germany to Slovenia, from Slovenia to Switzerland. Two other Silkens moved from Switzerland to Italy.
Please note that most of this information comes from my own personal notes collected over time, as well as from the official Timeline of the breed, which can be found on the website of ISWS – the International Silken Windhound Society.
